EDA, Inc. wouldn’t be a Fortune 500 company

If the big 3 US-based electronic design automation (EDA) companies — Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics — merged into a single company, the combined revenue of less than USD$4.4 billion wouldn’t be enough to break into the Fortune 500 list. The number 500 company is Molina Healthcare with revenue of USD$4.77 billion.

Update: Someone pointed out to me that, because both Synopsys and Cadence also license semiconductor design IP like ARM or Imagination do, an EDA Only, Inc. would have significantly less revenue than even USD$4.4 billion. Probably closer to USD$4.0 billion. But already back in 2008, Agilent EEsof was said to have a revenue of USD$120 million. Add them into the pretend company and revenues are comfortably about USD$4.0 billion.
