To direct attention, put a human in the scene

According to the study reported here, in a visual scene your brain instinctively seeks out the people, even if they are “quite small or not centrally located”.

To attract eyeballs to something in a scene, put somebody next to it. To hide it in clear view, misdirect eyeballs by putting the lovely assistant somewhere else.
