Working yourself sick has lousy ROI

It never pays off to push yourself to the point of getting sick. Lousy ROI, because your effectiveness is degraded, sometimes almost 100%, while you’re sick, and then when you’re finally well again, you’ve got a big pile of languishing commitments to catch up on.

Setting aside cold calculations, even your sense of common decency should rebel against this self-defeating tactic. After all, you wouldn’t push anyone else to the point of getting sick, would you?
